Why should you avoid jumpers made of synthetic fibres?
If you already own a jumper that you love then please don’t throw it away. Look after it by following the care instructions label. Let’s not be wasteful. However, if you are trying to invest in a charming jumper to keep you warm this autumn, then look for materials that will allow your skin to “breathe”. Materials like acrylic and polyester – seal moisture in, this can cause sweating and for body acne to worsen. That’s uncomfortable, to say the least! Natural fibres, like cotton and wool, will allow you to keep warm and help ventilate your skin, thus allowing it to “breathe”.
Natural materials are also friendlier to the environment as they are more likely to be biodegradable. Choose organic and ethically produced pieces whenever possible to minimise your impact on the environment and to ensure that garment workers receive fair wages for their work.
Synthetic-free and sustainable jumpers
Finding attractive jumpers that are synthetic-fibres-free is a genuine challenge! Luckily, I have found several – so that you don’t have to spend hours looking at labels…Enjoy!

I have a green one similar to the polka dot one you feature that I love. Non-synthetic jumpers/sweaters (love from the US) feel so much better on the skin too.
My favorite one would actually not look right on me, but I love it anyway. It’s the one with the polka dots. I would probably buy it for my sister who loves her polka dots.
